How to Clear Your Cache

How do I do that series

This tutorial is for you if you are having trouble seeing the changes that were made to your site. It inevitably happens, design changes are made, but you can’t see them. It’s ok! We are going to walk through the steps of clearing your cache.

Definition of CACHE: pronounced “cash”, a store of recently viewed website information – so that it can be quickly accessed at a later time. Caching information improves the load time of your website.

We are going to walk you through clearing the cache on these browsers: Chrome, Safari, and Firefox.

Determine which browser you are using and then follow the directions below.

Chrome:

With your browser open. Navigate your mouse to the upper left hand corner of the browser. You’ll see three vertical dots to the left of the URL address bar.

Click on the three dots to open the Chrome Settings window.
Click on “More Tools” to open another window.
Click on “Clear Browsing Data”
Make sure to refresh your website page to force the browser to reload the page.

Safari:

With your browser open. Navigate to the upper right hand corner of the browser. You’ll see the Safari menu above the URL address bar.

Click on “Safari” to open the drop down menu.
Click on “Preferences” to open a new window.
Within the window, click on the tab labeled “Privacy”.
Click on the button labeled, “Manage Website Data”.
Then wait for all the sites to load in the opened window.
Once the are loaded you’ll see a button in the bottom left side of that window labeled, “Remove All”. Click that Button.
Then Click “Done” in the lower right hand side.
Make sure to refresh your website page to force the browser to reload the page.

Firefox:

With your browser open Navigate to the menu at the top of the browser. You’ll see it above the URL address bar.

Click on the menu item, “History”.
Select the “Clear Recent History” option.
Select “All Items” to clear the cache.
