I designed Angela’s website, A Bed For My Heart, when she was getting ready to release her book “You Are the Mother of All Mothers”, a gift book for bereaved mothers. As an author, her writing is featured on online magazines such as Still Standing Magazine, Blooma Blog, and Reconcieving Loss. She facilities a bereaved mamas group and online community where she holds space for those who have a loss of a child. She is a woman of great support and inspiration to thousands of women world-wide.
Where A Bed For My Heart started
A year before I opened 5Pine Design, Angela hired me to design A Bed For My Heart with the want to create a space to build an online community for bereaved mamas as well as a place to sell her gift book, “You Are the Mother of All Mothers.” We worked closely for more than a month to build this special place. She had worked tirelessly on getting her book from poem to gift book. Her fingerprints are all over the book design. Angela is a woman with clear vision and purpose, a person most people only met once in a life time. The design is one that captures the soft, raw, and beautiful nature of a mother, while offering a soft landing-place of understanding and peace in a time of heart-ache.
We launched her site in April of 2014. She posted her writing, guest author writing, stared her Heart-to-Heart Project, and offered her book as the only item for sale. Within one years’ time Angela’s site ‘A Bed For My Heart’, has sold 4 print runs of her book, added more products to her store, and the site went viral with the posting of 7 Things I’ve Learned Since The Loss Of My Child. She was experiencing more than 130K site visits in a single day, and 2000+ comments. Together we weathered the storm of viral shares by reinforcing her site to support the traffic with her host and optimized her site for better social media integration.
Today she is maintaining thousands of site views a day and has surpassed the 1 million view mark! She’s in the middle of selling the 5th print run of her book, and has recently collaborated with a stamp and craft company to create special stamps with quotes from her books. The stamps are sold in major craft stores nationwide! All the while I’m working with her in the background, maintaining her site to keep it current and working smoothly for her entire community. To say I am proud of her success would be a MAJOR understatement. I adore Angela and admire her passion and calling to care for the bereaved mammas of the world. I’m honored she choose me as her website designer.
Angela and I have been recently talking about a site redesign in regards to her e-commerce successes. We are in the very early stages, but we’ll be sure to share what we create once it’s ready. You can visit her site at abedformyheart.com
